Mrs Elizabeth Blackburn of 271 Remington street bids farewell to her eldest son Albert age 23 who left for Camp Upton yesterday. Her younger son Harry 22 was wounded in action at the front as a gunner in British artillery and lies in a Boulogne France hospital with facial and forearm wounds and a shoulder injury. Harry enlisted last September and trained as a gunner and first class signal man. Parents await word on both sons condition.

The body of a newborn male was found on Pleasure Beach by John Brennan, caretaker of the breakwater lights, about 7 PM. Medical examiner Dr. Garlick ordered the body taken to Rourke and Boucher's parlors. The infant lay wrapped in a burlap sack with an oil cloth and old dress, possibly on the beach four to five days. The body was later brought to the Miamogue Yacht Club for examination.

Marston Edson Banks son of Captain C Lincoln Banks and grandson of Moses Banks died at a hospital in Camp Upton after failing to recover from an operation.
