Two homes in the Bellsland shore district were destroyed in a $25 000 blaze this morning near Norwalk Beach. Neighbors and fire departments from Norwalk Darien Rowayton and Bell Island fought the flames after the fire started in a residence occupied by Adron Jared who recently arrived from Chicago. Insurance surveys the damage as flames spread to a second house.
A survey of motor vehicle registrations shows about 2.6 percent provided no alternate addresses on license applications. The state motor vehicle department requires registrars to notify the commission within 48 hours of any address change or misstatement.
