Burglar Suspect Escapes Court in Mischief Case
George Janes, 26, of Hallett Street housing project, escaped from a circuit court yesterday during a hearing on shoplifting and breaking and entering with criminal intent. Police searched the area to no avail before later arresting him on the breaking and entering charge connected to a West End Lumber break in. The shoplifting incident involved merchandise alleged from Gimbels on June 7.

Electrolux Moves NY Offices to Stamford Facility
Electrolux a division of Consolidated Foods plans to relocate its national headquarters from New York City to the seventh floor of Largo building at 2777 Summers Street Stamford. The move, set for November, follows a signed 10 year lease totaling over 1.8 million in rent and will affect 65 employees. The current offices are in the Pfizer Building 285 East 42nd Street NYC and Electrolux also operates a plant in Old Greenwich.

In Carlioui, Oregon a southern Oregon town of 800 residents passed an ordinance making parents responsible for their children's crimes. The measure allows charging a parent with allowing a child to become a delinquent after a juvenile commits three or more offenses, with a maximum penalty of a 1,000 fine or up to 90 days in jail, or both.
