Man Lost One Saved In Boat Spill
A 12 foot fiberglass boat named The Lollipop capsized in choppy Long Island Sound waters near Pleasure Beach breakwaters at 6 30 pm. Walter Robinson 30 of Beardsley Terrace Stratford died, Oliver Womble 28 of Deardelry Terrace Milford was rescued by four passersby. An investigation by Patrolman George Egtl found a heavy wave overturned the craft, tossing the men. Womble, who swam to safety, recalls reaching for Robinson as he sank. The boat’s owner Richard Tetdas and other witnesses aided in the rescue. The incident was reported as continued on Page Two.
