Gaudy Paint Spills On Merritt Parkway Accident

In New Canaan on June 3 a station wagon carrying several gallons of paint was rear ended and overturned on the Merritt Parkway east of the Stamford Avenue overpass. Driver Edward McCullough, 60, suffered lacerations and head abrasions and was taken to Stamford Hospital. The fire department washed paint from the road as State Police and Highway Department trucks responded.

Republican platform urges full-time city court judges

Hartford dispatch reports Rep Anthony E Wallace of Simsbury previewed a Republican platform for the November election. Pact Approved For Columbia Pact Raises Wages At Columbia Records

The Columbia Records local 2371 United Electrical Workers ratified a new contract raising wages by 10 cents an hour for day workers and boosting piece workers by a similar amount. The agreement, announced by union and management negotiators, passed by hand vote about 280 to 20 at a Sokol hall meeting led by Monroe Leach. Average pre-contract hourly wages were 1.93 dollars. some day workers will receive additional adjustments ranging from 2 to 10 cents above the base increase.

AMC and UAW Agree on Keeping Pact
