Bandits Kidnap Dental Patient in San Francisco

Two men with daggers and a revolver abducted a dentist and a nurse and tied up a patient, then forced the patient to help cash checks at a bank. The incident near Union Square triggered a two hour taxi ride before the victim was released unharmed but frightened. The robbers spoke some Spanish and warned they would kill the dentist’s wife.

Lin Area Pass Dental Exams In June State Board

The Connecticut Dental Commission reported 65 dentists passed the June state board examinations. Stratford residents listed include Gordon Gombar son of Mrs. Helen C. Gombar 44 Vale Street Willam Drag an Jr. son of Mr and Mrs William B 47 Dragan Sr of 433 Thompson Street and Jon J Siegier of 15 Bayview Boulevard. The 24 Bridgeporter was Daniel Spinella address not available. Gombar 27 holds pre dental training at Fairfield University and Tufts Dental School in Boston. He is in a five week Army training at Fort Sam Houston Texas and is married to Barbara Evanstock of Bridgeport. They have a three month old child. He completed dental training at Temple University Philadelphia Pa.

Polio Cases Reported in City Rise to Five for Year

Dr. H P Dinan Jr, acting health director, says two new polio cases bring city total to five this year and a third suspected case is testing. The patients include a three year old girl and a 22 year old pregnant woman with paralysis. a 2 year old boy has partial polio shots but incomplete series. Englewood hospital cares for all.

Milford approves 688000 bond for Walnut Beach school

Milford voters at a town meeting approved a 688000 bond ordinance to fund construction and renovations at Walnut Beach school and related projects. A second bond of 259000 was approved for land purchase and sewer work at the Nike installation in Woodmont.

Senate approves about 40 billion for defense in fiscal year

Newtown Rejected Gravel Plant Plea

The Monroe Ready Mix Concrete Inc applied to erect an asphalt mixing plant and gravel processing plant on Route 25 at the Monroe town line.
