President Harding departed Tacoma aboard the Army Transport Henderson for a continental tour of Alaska. John A. De Young of Montreal admits leading a trio that robbed a Broadbrook Connecticut post office, stole New York railroad bonds, fled at high speed, and caused their touring car to ignite near New Haven before dispersing to Boston. Police reward offered.

July 1 Stratford. heavy machinery toppled from a truck inside Stratford Body Plant injuring George Fox 18 of Bridgeport and William Whelan of Bridgeport. Fox severely hurt, Whelan died later. both rushed to Bridgeport Hospital after first aid from Dr De Ruyter How. Both Sullivan Express employees tried to move the piece when it slipped off skids and fell.
Washington July 5 Counsel for Charles W Morse his three song and four others on trial on charges of conspiracy to defraud the government on war time shipping contracts filed motions today to dismiss the indictments and to direct acquittal of the accused Justice Stafford took the motions after the government rested its case. The defense listed 33 reasons for dismissal and 14 for acquittal. Jury not present as Justice Stafford disqualified them for the day. Trial has run eleven weeks.
New York July reports indicate the Board of Governors unanimously adopted a resolution directing the Committee on War and Means to investigate and prosecute all members against whom complaints have been received by Attorney General Sherman

Johnson faced charges of reckless driving and failure to stop, with a second Fairfield trial planned after his arrest.
Frederick A Hall eight years old of Stamford Massachusetts was arrested for hearing and entering after police found him inside a small store on Scenoza Avenue shortly after 4 AM. Police officers Cronin and Adams reported the youth surrendered when threatened with pistols. Hall pleaded not guilty.
Four people perished when a train collided with a motor vehicle near Salapon. Miss Ian Dinkin of Se Mie was among the injured. Others named include Wilfred Charen of Dover and Miss Anite of Salo, all reported in stable condition at a local hospital.
