Westport to enforce beach ordinances under new prosecutor

Branley T. Jennings, elected town prosecutor, declared he will prosecute violators of the beach ordinances brought before him. He noted he opposes existing rules on parking town vehicles and resident beach fees, while acknowledging possible questions of legality and the need for new ordinances. The move follows the previous prosecutor Edward B. Bradley’s decision to step down and a push by townspeople for a town meeting to rescind or amend the rules.
