Washington Jan 30 Republicans on the House Ways and Means committee vote to reduce 1924 income taxes payable this year possibly up to 33 percent. Green, committee chair, says the cut applies after taxes are completed and to all personal taxpayers. Treasury estimates a 25 percent cut could save about 225.9 million dollars. Democratic members planned a similar proposal but via a joint resolution for action before March 15. The plan would be added to the revenue bill with possible refunds for taxes already paid.
