Hearing Site Switch City Pay to Be Aired
A Civil Service hearing on a proposed six percent pay increase for classified city workers will be held Thursday at p.m. in the Burroughs Public Library lecture room rather than City Hall. John J. Linley, personnel director, said the change avoids a clash with Zoning Board hearings. Linley recommends a six percent raise for the 1957 58 fiscal year starting April 1. After the hearing, the Civil Service commission will meet Jan. 15 to adopt a new compensation plan and then send it to the Common Council and Mayor McLevy for approval or disapproval.

Judge suspends jail, warns man in molest case at Golden Hill
Judge Samuel J. Tedesco in City court gave Paul Posey a suspended 60 day jail term and a warning after he faced molestation charges involving a 14 year old girl in an apartment building at 203 Golden Hill Street. Posey must stay away from the girl or the sentence can be revived. The defendant agreed to leave the apartment building.
