Trumbull is sworn in as governor and begins early actions including order to remove the Governor plate from the official car as part of inaugurative steps. Bingham heads to Washington as part of immediate transition responsibilities.
Governor John H. L. Trumbull began his term by removing the word Governor from the state car plate and restoring the Templeton era registration number to the vehicle. He also signed a notary public's commission as his first official act.
Gov Bingham resigns to become U S Senator before noon. Lieutenant Governor Peabull ascends as governor after Trumbull is sworn in later. Ceremony simple with few relatives at the State House while Bingham departs for Washington to take the Senate oath.
Federal prohibition agents confiscated more than 3 000 stills and 2 500 hydrometers in a sweep across six shops along Manwell Street Market. Four people were arrested as raids capped a 60 day government probe costing about 6 090 dollars. The largest still valued at 1 000 dollars drew tense reactions at several outlets.

Barry moved from New Haven to campaign in Connecticut for Bingham and has limited prior state residency. Markie, a Washington bread employee, is noted as a former New Britain resident and college graduate.
Bridgeport total deposits reach $98,477,474 as of January 3 1925, up about $3 million from last October. Commercial banks hold $44,735,534 and savings banks $54,731,989, with a prior October 1924 total near $95.8 million. Horace B Merwin predicts early spring improvement in industry, wages, and retail trade, beginning in factories.

Walter Hapgood and George Stallings joint owners of the Rochester baseball club purchased the Bridgeport franchise of the Eastern League from Timothy J. Sullivan Jr. The sale, completed at the Eastern League meeting in Springfield, marks the third ownership change in a year. Hapgood said the deal was a cash purchase and declined to reveal the price.
William H W Young of Woodway Road Stamford claimed as his property silverware and other items recovered by detectives when Joseph and David Powell of Stamford were arrested last Wednesday. The Powells deny burglary, saying the silverware was found by them along the waterfront. Stamford police then searched the Powells’ former home and found a coat on Mrs Ther ie Powell that they say belonged to Mrs Young. she was arrested pending further inquiry.
Mary Winckiewicz of Pairfield age 45, mother of three, was sentenced to 10 days in County Jail and fined 200 after pleading guilty to selling liquor. Judge John T. Walsh cited persistence and risk of repeat offenses, noting youth and ill health of her youngest child and assurances of local care during her incarceration.
Ex prize fighter Kid McCoy was convicted of manslaughter in the August death of Mrs Theresa W Mors and sentenced today to one to ten years in San Quentin. Judge Crail denied a new trial bid amid a 15 count appeal, McCoy plans to appeal.
Wayne Munn former University of Nebraska athlete won the heavyweight world wrestling title in Kansas City by defeating Ed Strangler Lewis in two falls to none. Munn took the first and third falls after an in-ring foul that saw Lewis elevated over the ropes and thrown from the ring.
