Stratford Snow Slows Pedestrians As Plows Fail
Stratford Jan 4 Special plow crews hired by Town Manager R H Hunter failed to appear today leaving many residents, especially those away from main roads, to wade through deep snow drifts. Only James Lally reported inability to operate his plow, others were covered by substitutes. By noon plows were underway and by nightfall most sidewalks in dense areas were cleared. State Highway crews assisted on Main Street and through town, pushing snow to the road edges and easing auto travel.
