Truck Load Vanishes From Stratford Terminal

Sealand Transportation says the red 1962 Mack tractor with New Jersey plates was last seen at 11 pm after being parked at 10 am. The aluminum trailer bears the Sealand name.

Ships Collide in Fog Off the Oregon Coast

A Japanese freighter and a Liberian tanker collided in heavy fog 340 miles west of the Columbia River. Both ships were on fire with 37 crew on the freighter Suwa Hara Maru and 43 aboard the tanker Mandoil II. Four men were rescued by another Japanese vessel and 23 others reportedly took to lifeboats.
