FBI Locates Kidnapped Cow in Stockyards
FBI agents traced a 1000 pound Hereford nicknamed Bossy abducted from Brownstown Indiana and transported across state lines. Orin Reed and Wayne Wible of La Porte admitted stealing the cow and selling it for 194.24 dollars before being seized and charged with interstate transportation of a stolen cattle. Bossy was recovered and shipped back to Indiana.

Filmmaker Earl McAvoy Dies at 46 in Norwalk Hospital
Earl McAvoy a 46 year old motion picture producer director died yesterday at Norwalk Hospital after a year of ill health. A Dartmouth English graduate he worked at MGM for 12 years and Columbia for three before becoming an independent producer director in 1955. His films in the 1940s included Lust for Gold and The Killer That Stalked New York. He lived in Fairfield since last June after moving from Hollywood 1958 and previously Wilton. Surviving are his wife Miriam Rafferty McAvoy three daughters Judy Miriam and Phyllis a son Earl Jr his mother Grace McAvoy of Norwalk a brother Gordon of Carmel N Y and three sisters.
