Walls ton April 21 AP Warry Heldges Pacific Coast longshore boss testified his dock workers would honor requests from unions in communist nations not to unload shipping in United States ports. He said international transport unions could invoke worldwide shipping boycotts to support union arms. Bridges, president of the International Longshoremen and Warehousemen's Union, angered House Committee members with replies suggesting vast international reciprocity among transport workers. Rep. Doyle called it a danger to national interest. Rep. Scherer urged curbing powers of Bridges and Hoffa. Bridges invoked the Fifth Amendment, declining to answer about associations with foreign communists and during a Europe trip. The hearing followed a long day of questioning and claimed he had won prior Supreme Court battles over deportation to Australia. Chairman Walter pressed about a recent trip to Russia and other nations.
