Henri Landru known as the bluebeard of Gambenty received a few more days of grace as his counsel argued to the court for commutation of his death sentence. The case arises from the murder of multiple women and a boy, with the judge to rule soon after additional hearings.

John H. Lang of New York City will address Bridgeport Philosophical Society members at the next meeting on March in their room at 1087 Broad Street. The talk is titled In the Church a Fable or for Good or Evil. Lang is known as a lecturer on rationalism.
Milford February 23 Specter Robert Jagoe Jr seven year old son of Mr and Mrs Robert Jagoe of 19 Cherry street was taken to Grace Hospital in New Haven after a log pile collapsed pinning him to the ground. He suffered a fracture of the right leg just below the thigh while playing with friends in a neighbor’s yard. Neighbors carried him home.
Attorney David Day received a silver pencil at the YMCA parliamentary law course closing meeting. Presenter Barnusl W. Davis thanked Day for six weeks of instruction as about sixty students attended the popular class. Two night school overcoats were reported stolen from Billay Howe school.
A New York report from February 40 chronicles Russian intellectuals in America rejecting Lenin's invitation to return. With one exception, they prefer staying in the United States, citing futility under Bolshevism and the freedom to work honestly.

Lieutenant Harold Hine of Newington will be buried Saturday with military honors after funeral services at his brother’s home in Sachem Road. Captain Allan P MacOrland of Illinois also honored. services followed a brief ceremony. Hine’s death is mourned by family with ties to Connecticut and Lebanon Congregational history.
