Postmasters of Connecticut elected P. L. Shea of Derby as president of the Connecticut Association of Postmasters at the annual convention at the Stratfield hotel. J. Cheney of Milford was named vice president. J. Toe van of Shelton became treasurer for another term. D. J. McCarthy and I. J. Molen retired as president and vice president. The gathering included speeches by FE. Kent Hubbard and others, with a patriotic program honoring President Harding and the Star Spangled Banner.

Coast guard cutter Ossipee pursues an unidentified auxiliary schooner near the New England coast after a dramatic raid attempt to land whiskey and gun cargo valued at 70 000. Police and customs later seized liquor including bourbon, gin, and beer from a motor boat that ran aground near Collins Cove. one man arrested on tip that schooner sailed from Nassau bound for Salem.
