Miller's Girl Friend Freed After Kidnap Charge Dropped
Rosalie Milledge, 23, the girlfriend of Miller the convicted slayer, was released from the state jail after a Superior Court dropped the kidnapping charge. State’s Attorney Qlie J. Saur argued lack of evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Judge James Shannon approved. Milledge had been held on $50,000 bond in Fairfield State Jail since arrest with Miller in Soperton, Ga, shortly after Mrs. Isabelle B. Sillan was strangled on November 12 at Westport. Gail Sillan, then 10, was kidnapped and raped. Miller remains serving a life sentence for first degree murder in Wethersfield. Investigators note Milledge and Miller had lived openly as a couple in Norwalk, and Milledge may have been in Miller’s car the day Gail was confined in a trunk. She denies knowledge of Miller’s crimes.
