Liberty cabbage released to aid German relief effort
Berlin December 21 The Central Syndicate for vegetables and fruit has released 300000 metric tons of Liberty cabbage for civilian use. Stock reserved for the army and navy is being reduced by demobilization and requisitioning. Prussia gets over half the allotment while Bavaria and Saxony receive about one fifth each. Distribution is nationwide but will only partly ease the severe food shortage. The inclusion of sauerkraut in menus is seen as a notable achievement of the revolution.
