Wins War Cross For Verdun Defense Veteran

Coblenz tonight is under complete American military control with municipal authorities cooperating. Shaman Johnson Burns Return From French Waters Incident

Shaman Johnson, badly burned in a gas explosion aboard submarine chaser 219 in French waters on October 9, is home on comfort. E. I. Johnson of Bridgeport lies convalescent at an army hospital in Ellis Island after arrival on the hospital ship Comfort. His mother, Mrs. Jane Taylor, remains in the city. Beaman Johnson, cheerful and improving, suffers painful burns after a period in Bordeaux military hospital. Johnson is 21 and has served in the navy for several years.

Sims Presents Bill To Control Packers

Private bhdim as f. Bresnahan of the 327th Infantry Division National Army earned a Croix de Guerre on June 25, 1918. He lost a hand and a foot at St Mihiel but remembers the mission with 36 privates and 5 officers. It started in the power house and, due to inadequate water pressure and a severe northeast gale, officials feared great damage.
