Rush of Early Christmas Buying Unsurpassed in Bridgeport
Bridgeport retailers report a near million dollar Christmas pre-season surge with demand for upscale gifts. Stores showcase bold colors, new home electronics like percolators and phonographs, leather cases, and luxury apparel. Toy departments favor American-made, while women’s gifts trend to furs, robes, gloves, mantillas, and brocaded leather items. Cigars, pipes, and boxed gift sets rise, with tight supply on trees and holiday greens.
