National Guard Air Equipment Deemed Obsolete
Washington AP reports lack of funds left National Guard air service units with equipment that is obsolete and unsafe for flying. Major General George C. Rickards told Secretary Davis the 1924 25 year’s Militia Bureau findings urge funds for suitable airplanes and gear. He praised three years of guard air service as a valuable peace time reserve with high morale and efficiency, especially the Twenty ninth Division units in Maryland.
