Two Pedestrians Struck by Autos in City Streets
Last night two pedestrians were injured in separate auto accidents. Mrs. M. Marccs, 45, of 73 Pine Street, was hit at Fairfield Avenue and Orland Street by Herbert la Sprague of 426 Maplewood Avenue and was taken to St. Vincent's for observation. A man, Thomas Kavanaugh, 40, of 40 Bay Broad Street, was struck on Main Street near Wrank Street by Henry Smith of 235 Smith Street and treated for abrasions at Emergency Hospital. A mother and her son, Mrs. Mary Greglak, 35, of 34 Southdew Street, and August Twelve, were injured when her car collided with Michael Cloppy's at Poplar Street and Beechwood Avenue. they were taken to the Warnergenes hospital for treatment. The driver of Mrs. Greglak's car implied the mother was at fault.

A Edward Olmsted aged eighty, noted civil engineer who led division work on the New York Subway project, died at his East Hartford home after months of illness. He built the Southern division of the Connecticut Valley Railroad and worked on railroads across multiple states and the Pacific coast. Olmsted, an ASCE member and NY Academy of Sciences fellow, was division engineer under S J F Deyo of the Subway Construction Co from 1900 to 1918. He lived in East Hartford since birth and traced lineage to Hartford settlers James Olmsted and Deacon Joseph Olmsted.
