Alabama pastor Rev R Stephenson surrendered after fatally shooting Father Crile a longtime St Pauls Catholic church pastor. Officials say Crile, who had officiated a marriage for Stephenson’s daughter, was shot three times then died. Stephenson confessed he killed the priest over the marriage ceremony dispute.
A captive balloon moored at Naval Air Station Sere broke from its moorings, drifted seaward, then inland before the occupants parachuted to safety. With no propulsion, the bag rose toward the water near Tom’s River, later drifting inland again where it was secured back at the station.
The Norwegian liner Bertensfjord, from New York, struck an iceberg in fog off Cape Rare at three this morning. One propeller wing bent, speed reduced, no passengers injured, ship to be docked for examination. Police discover quantities of wood and alcohol at Waslow Gengel’s home in Anthony Street.
