Stratford Woman Will Is Upheld
A Stratford jury in Superior court found Josephine Bedell’s last will valid after a nine minute verdict. The will, dated December 23, 1925, left the estate worth about 7000 to Bedell and denied undue influence by stepson William Bedell. Four other children from a prior marriage contested probate after Bedell’s September 1918 death, alleging manipulation while she suffered brain softening. The ruling affirms Judge John Smith’s probate decision and marks a notable record in similar trials.
