Bridgeport detectives reported five burglaries in the West End. Victims include Clyde Williams of 183 Pacific Street whose jewelry vanished, Ida Holland of 1153 Iranistan Avenue, Frank Kulikowski of 930 Norman Street with $237 cash and a wristwatch, Patricia Clark at 20 Norman Street with $16 and a wrist watch, and Charles and Ida Pizzitola at 88 Norman Street with a purse holding $100 and credit cards.

Orthodox Easter ritual marks resurrection with flame and eggs
The Orthodox Church held Easter services with the Resurrection proclaimed as parishioners lit tapers from the eternal flame and received red Easter eggs. The Rev. William Kehayes of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox said the eggs symbolize Christ's blood and new life. Heavy attendance topped 1,200 at the Easter main service per the Rev. Kehayes. St. John the Baptist Carpatho Russian church also reported full houses.
