Robert N. Cowles of 227 Carroll Avenue Bridgeport was a signalman on the United States naval collier Cyclops missing for over a month. He last saw his grandmother and has not been home in four months. Enlisted after war began as apprentice seaman and later promoted, Cowles was about 19 and once wore a Sacramenia hat band. An earlier ship listing wrongly gave Sacramente, California as his residence.
