Members of Local 123 Office Employees International Union vote in a biannual election across Bridgeport Orange New Haven and Waterbury. Frederick Graham faces Gandolfon LaPlaca for president while Leon Krolikowski contests Donald Mason for vice president. Several incumbents are unopposed including Anita Mercurio for trustee and Edward Arkison secretary treasurer along with other incumbents. Balloting occurs at Jenkins Brothers venue Polish Falcon Club Main Street from noon to 1 pm and 3 30 to 4 pm.

Farmer Dies in Fire in Amesbury
George E. Hoyt Jr, 51, a farmer living alone on Haverhill road, died yesterday when a blaze destroyed his three story frame home. Firefighters found him wedged between a fuel oil barrel and the cellar wall.

Man Bites Dog Fight Ends With Dog Injured
YOKOHAMA AP A mongrel dog lies in critical condition after a man, Hanichi Nishimura, 35, a newspaper vendor, bit the dog following a bark in a yard. The dog bit back and police separated them. The dog suffered bites to the legs and back while Nishimura was bitten on the face and ears. Officials said the dog would be watched for rabies. no charges were filed. Police noted Nishimura may have already been punished.
