Washington lawyers in the 2 million libel and conspiracy suit by Sen. Thomas J. Dodd against columnists were told the case must be prepared for the calendar in U. S. District Court within six months or it will be dismissed. Pre trial Examiner John Finn outlined the six month deadline as depositions from Drew Pearson and Jack Anderson would follow the Senate Ethics report, with motions before Judge Alexander Holtzoff.
Matthew Moriarty of Manchester supported a bill to restrict use of funds raised at testimonial dinners for public officials. Rep. Michael Morano introduced the bill amid a Senate Ethics inquiry into Thomas J. Dodd. The proposal would limit such funds to campaigning and related expenses or be returned to town committees.

Four Fairfield residents Sharon Goulde John Bono Louise Mendoza and Robert Jones were bound over to Superior Court on charges of receiving stolen goods and narcotics law violations. A Bridgeport police arrest outside jurisdiction was ruled illegal, but the suppression motion was denied due to lack of standing. Yvonne Harriston was the fifth person previously arrested.
Mexico rejects any move to consider an American peace force resolution at the Punta del Este summit set for April 12 to 14. Foreign Minister Antonio Carrillo Flores said the topic is not on the approved agenda and cannot be made a resolution. He noted Argentina plans a stronger push on Latin American military cooperation against subversion.

Danburian Jacob Murray 3 of 2774 Beaver Street received two concurrent 90 day state jail terms with 40 days to serve suspended by Judge John Casale for driving under suspension and driving while intoxicated. Murray arrested March 25 after prior suspension conviction in May 1964. Norwalk resident John Fulton was fined 15 dollars for slow driving on Rt. 7 with 30 cars stuck behind. Glen Cook 20 of Tower Place got 30 day suspended jail term for breach of peace after pool hall dispute. John Napolitano 46 of Library Place fined 25 dollars and given 30 day suspended sentence for breach of peace plus 25 dollars for willful property damage. David L Brennan 18 of Torrington Henry F Hamburg 3 of Trumbull and Thomas D Marron 57 Hospital Avenue fined 20 dollars each for speeding.
