Miss Margaret Farrar, a stenographer, and James French, the night man at Cook's garage, were shot. Farrar suffered two bullets, French three, and both were taken to St Francis Hospital in Hartford where French was not expected to survive. Farrar described an attempted assault followed by shots fired as she fled.
