Clam bake delights Fairfield parish on beach at Penfield
A festive Congregational church event on the Fairfield beach featured a clam bake led by William C. Burr. Clams, chickens, squabs, eggs and sweet potatoes steamed under grass and burlap, served to a grateful crowd by Rev. Frank Child and local men. The gathering drew praise for its setup and enjoyed by all before 9 pm. Additional notes mention school hires, real estate parcels fronting Fairfield avenue, and social events including a Daughters of the Founders reception.
