Farmer Opposes Vincent Bill in Public Utilities Measure
The Farmer prints in full the Connecticut public service regulation bill by the State Business Men's Association. It improves on the Vincent bill, removing the costly appeal clause and adding publicity, audits, and anti watering of capital. The proposal creates a five member Public Utilities Commission with broad authority over railroads, gas, electric, water, and telephone concerns, including meter inspections, accident reporting, and penalties for noncompliance.
