In Binghamton on July 23 a devastating fire at the Binghamton Clothing Company factory killed several workers and left many missing. Forewoman Nellie Connor and foreman Sidney Dimmock died helping others to escape as flames swept the four story building. City officials announced a full investigation and a public funeral plan for unidentified victims.

Thomas Foreman, a lineman for New Haven road electrification, was on a construction train when it passed under Central avenue bridge. He was knocked from the top to the tracks and suffered a fractured skull. He was rushed to Bridgeport hospital. doctors reported a good chance of recovery.

New York July 23 The special committee of the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad is expected to reveal its choice for President Mellen’s successor after a Friday executive committee meeting. Lad's Leg Caught in Milk Wagon Wheel
Nine year old Fred Manevetz of 235 Frank street ran his right leg into the spokes of a Dewhirst Dairy milk wagon driven by A. L. Rotzar about 11:30 this forenoon. The tibia fracture occurred when the boy jumped on the wagon step and the horse started. Ambulance and Dr. Finnegan drove him to St. Vincent's hospital.
