Hawleyville Conn July 18 W W C Dow of East Hartford a fireman on the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad was severely burned when a shovel of coal ignited and powder mixed with coal exploded in the fire box. He was hurled from the cab and saved by holding a cab handle until the engineer reached him. Dow was taken to Danbury hospital with burns to hands and arms. Investigation planned.
