Great Display Of Game Birds At Annual Poultry Show
Scandal erupts at the sixth Consolidated Poultry Association exhibition at Rosedale Dock when a female impersonator reveals a game cock in dramatic fashion. The incident sparks a melee in the Henney enclosure, with damage to a participant and frantic crowd reactions as judges tally 122 classes and more than 300 birds. George King of Westport leads entries with a large scope of breeds including Barred Plymouth Rocks, White Plymouth Rocks, Buff Orp hens and many varieties, as the show runs through tomorrow with top prize worth 50 dollars for the best game cock.

Rampolla dies as Rome mourns Vatican diplomat
Cardinal Tindaro Rampolla, once papal secretary of state and a leading Vatican diplomat, died in Rome aged 69. His death follows a storied career shaping church policy and relations, with implications felt amid imperial vetoes and church reunification efforts. Meanwhile Bridgeport officials faced a cold reception from the board on a 380,000 high school funding request, with debates over direct taxation versus bond issues and calls to keep plans within a tighter budget.
