Eighteen Drown Off Oregon Coast After Ship Capsizes
Eighteen men drowned when the German bark Mimi capsized off North Spit Nehalem Bay after being hauled off the beach. Rescue attempts began immediately with Garribaldi station crews saving Captain Charles Fisher and Captain J Westphal and two sailors.
