Rankin County Board Awards Bridges and School Funding

The Rankin county board authorizes G W White to issue a $244 warrant for a Richland creek bridge and A B Miles to issue a $194 warrant for a Hog Creek bridge upon completion. It approves bond maintenance for five years and sets an October adjournment, with tax levies and repairs for 1903 and 1904. William R Hearst extols public schools and urges strong support and fair pay for teachers amid agricultural and industrial costs.

Remarkable wartime poem from Charleston 1823 era

A captured poem printed on satin during the war at Charleston South Carolina, with religious text invoking the Lord’s Prayer. The fragmentary piece records later recovery by A. P reen of Auburn Indiana in Corinth Mississippi on May 30, 1762, and includes invocation of forgiveness and divine protection. The tone is devotional with flourishes of archaic phrasing and mentions of eternal themes.

Value of an Education preached at Brandon Methodist
