Ford Overturns Saturday Moonlight Picnic Scene
At Rhodes place a short distance south of town a moonlight picnic hosted by local Black residents ended with a Ford overturning and trapping five riders. The top windshield and two wheels were destroyed. Injuries were painful but not serious. Occupants named Master Taylor K. T. Proctor General Scott and Elsa Horde were involved.

Cotton Association Advances 14 Cents a Pound on Cotton
Mississippi Farm Bureau Cotton Association members may draw drafts of 14 cents a pound as an initial payment on cotton deliveries, raised two cents from before. The advance to about 70 dollars per 500 pound bale reflects relief for a short crop due to rains, weevil, and damage, with banks to honor drafts and a growing membership of over 18,250 workers statewide.
