Last Thursday Oct 12 the Beat Fair at Pisgah drew crowds from miles around. Exhibits showcased top county farm products, cattle, and a remarkable two year old calf with six legs and seven feet. Speakers included T W Moore Brandon Farm Bureau president and County Agent Simmons, followed by R D Pate. Dinner on the ground drew hearty praise before athletic events, horse races, hog calling contest, old fiddlers contest, and a closing note on hog stealers.

Three Churches Hold Sunday Services At Once
Brandon newspapers report an unusual Sunday with preaching at three town churches simultaneously for the first time in years. The Episcopal service featured Holy Communion and a 11 o’clock sermon by Rev. Val H. Session, with evening services. The Baptists hosted a returned missionary from apan for sixteen years who gave a cud talk. The Presbyterians had Dr. Hobson of Jackson preach two sermons and he drove forty miles that afternoon. he recently married and brought his bride.

East Rankin Fair a Highly Successful Day
The East Rankin Fair held Friday October 13 at Pelahatchie drew large crowds and good weather. Agricultural and livestock exhibits impressed, Fordson demonstration drawn crowds, art and canned goods also strong. County Agent Simmons and P P Garner spoke, donors hosted a dinner, and horse and donkey races provided entertainment.
