What is a Piano Bond and how it fools buyers
A Mississippi reader recalls a music trade alert tracing a nationwide fraud known as piano bonds. Firms issue bonds certificates worth 80 to 125 dollars, redeemable on piano purchases, used to inflate prices by 100 to 150 dollars. Buyers pay extra and receive little or no credit for other goods. Williams Bros warn the scheme will flood Mississippi with bonds as three major houses push mass distribution.

Modern land QF promise from Hudson Bay Railway
Carl R Loop says the Hudson Bay Railway could unlock huge timber and pulp resources along the route from Winnipeg to Hudson Bay. Engineers report 250 to 300 million feet of logs near the line with more along tributaries, plus rich agricultural lands near Millshio, Gras Rivers, Split Lake, and Nelson River areas. The Nelson River system drains much of central Canada and may support a canal to bring ocean steamers to Lake Winnipeg. Enormous power along the river could power railway operations, with potential harbor improvements at Port Nelson and Church Hill pending further surveys.
