Millsaps student drowns saving boy at Country Club Lake
A Millsaps College divinity student A C Anderson 22 of Mayhew and Willie Boyd 16 of the Methodist Orphanage drowned at the Country Club lake in Rankin county near Jackson. Anderson rescued one boy then perished while saving Willie Boyd. Bodies recovered by nightfall and interment planned for Deadhlawn.

Rufus L Stubblefield, 75, long respected Ash Grove resident born in 1834 in Rockingham County North Carolina, died after a yearlong illness. Funeral held at his home with Rev J H Jones officiating. burial in local cemetery. Survived by wife Sarah E Durham, two children Laura Caulfield and a son. Brother of A B and S B Stubblefield.
