Supervisors Find Purchaser For Bonds

The Board of Supervisors of Rankin County met in Brandon on March 6 1911 with all members present. They accepted Capitol National Bank bid to buy thirty thousand dollars in road bonds at par with delivery after legal approval. They authorized various road and pauper measures and set up funds for schools and bridges, including allocating bids and overseer appointments.

Fire Destroys Rankin County Farm Buildings

A Sunday night blaze at Rankin County farm destroyed the bus shelter prisoners cage manager's residence barns and sheds with all contents estimated at 4000 dollars. No insurance. Incendiary origin suspected but no culprit found. Will not rebuild. a livestock shed will be built and remaining structures left until late summer. The cage will house the prisoner who will continue work on the farm.
