Escaped Prisoner Sam Wright Captured Near Brandon
Sam Wright known as the misterious prisoner was located days ago at Lake Providence Louisiana and arrested at a saw mill. He was brought to Brandon and jailed after being shot in the shoulder during his escape attempt. Wright had previously escaped by tunnel and held a key to store doors, boasting he would not leave if the jail doors were left open. He will be kept in jail pending further action.

Rankin County Pupils Admitted to Jackson Public Schools
The Jackson Board of Education declared Rankin County pupils from Pearl Pearson and Richland districts may enroll in Jackson Public Schools. Conditions include enrollment in the first half of the first month, regular attendance, monthly tuition of 3 dollars in grammar schools or 4 dollars in high school, and possible use of Rankin County pay warrants for the last six months if issued. Otherwise full nine months tuition applies. Continuance is subject to Board approval and may be withdrawn for the district's interest.
