Revelations of a Long Missing Heir Tied to Virginia Estate
The Globe reports a romantic yet historical find, the identification of William Williams, a missing heir from the Pleasant Williams estate near the Cumberland Mountains in Virginia. War torn family ties, a Kentucky Union soldier who captured a Confederate brother at Perryville, and a Missouri drift lead to a syndicate valuing coal under the old plantation. Williams, now a market gardener, will receive compensation and title once papers are perfected, with his mother still living and plans to build a homestead near his city residence.
