You are summoned to answer the complaint on file in Crow Wing County District Court Brainerd within twenty to thirty days after service. Card received announces the approaching marriage of Laura Elora Pember to John H W Glazier. The couple, well known in Brainerd and Lake City Minnesota, will wed Wednesday afternoon November 4 1885 at 5 o’clock at the Pember residence. Miss Pember formerly taught in the second ward school. Mr Glazier has worked in N P paint shops and recently in Agate Bay. The Dispatch extends congratulations.
Having purchased a large lot of white blankets slightly soiled at half value Cohen Bros offers them to customers. Housekeepers are assured of a bargain if they call and examine these all wool blankets at a very low price.
A second time keeper was added at the shops this week with new positions for J E Fox as timekeeper and Thos Blackburn as telegraph operator. Fred Desplaines left for Livingston to become an inspector under L D Lasher. Wages and orders are high at the railroad shops, sparking speculation no drastic layoffs this fall. Alderman Forsyth is praised for pushing the ravine bridge project. The employes library association nears operation. A. E. Daggett returns from Detroit to Brainerd. W Woodrick and Nettie Battles Wed in Brainerd. H Rosenblatt tours for new goods in the cities below.

A midnight blaze in a vacant log house on Front Street West in Brainerd destroyed one of the oldest local buildings owned by James Dewar. The adjacent Snow property narrowly avoided total loss, with household goods salvaged damaged. Tramps are blamed for starting the fire. losses near $1,000.
Willis Patrick, son of James Willis, 22, died in Brainerd October 29 1885 at 4 30 am of typhoid fever. He lived four years in Brainerd worked at the N P planing mill and had been in Dakota this summer. After ten days sickness he died at his father’s residence on 9th street. He was well regarded by associates funeral at the Catholic Church Saturday with Rev Father Vaudry.
