The Register reports a Cass county man stole two spools of fence wire from E. E. McMillin’s shed. He loaded them on his wagon and drove away. After a days long search McMillin recovered the wire and sent two men after it. Monday the thief paid 25 to settle the matter, the wire valued about 36 with the rest considered protection to an American merchant.
