A powerful explosion at the Litchfield Planet mills in Illinois wrecked nearly all South Litchfield businesses and many homes. One worker, John Carve of Waterloo, was killed. several others injured as wheat elevators and rail cars burned, telegraph lines failed, and total losses near a million dollars. Even the grand hotel and stores suffered extensive damage.
The funeral of Miss Alma Nunnemacher and young Miller was held at Forest Home cemetery at 3 o'clock. Services were at Father Seph of St John's cathedral with burial by Rev. J. Lester of St Paul's Episcopal church. Miller and Alma were laid in family and Nunnemacher lots, witnessed by parents and close relatives.
Frank Demers local agent of the Great Northern Express company was found dead in bed this morning by his mother who arrived from St. Paul. Death appeared from apoplexy. He was a son of Capt H S Demers a pioneer of the Red Wing valley. Remains were taken to St Paul for interment.
Special trains from Fargo and New Rockford and regular service brought a large gathering of Knights of Pythias to Jamestown North Dakota for the installation and organization of a new lodge. Grand Chancellor RahI of Bismarck attended to institute the lodge with representatives from Fargo and New Rockford present.

Special Herbert Hall Winslow, dramatist, sues for separation from wife Daisy Edna Winslow. Trial opens with Winslow detailing the summer of 1890 at Asbury Park where she displayed violent temper and allegedly attempted his life with scissors. She deserted him on Oct 5 1890 and refused to return. She counters that he rebuked her by calling her at her father’s house and visiting at night.
