Died in the city on Tuesday June 5 of pneumonia Mrs Calista F Spaulding aged 77. She was the mother of Capt C L Spaulding of the Lumbermen's bank and was regarded as an estimable lady.

Patten and Tregillus Nuptials in Local Home Ceremony
At the residence of Wm. Stephens on Maple Street near Fifth in this city, Rev. E. J. Brownson officiated on Monday June 4 1888 as Mr J H Patten wed Miss Emily Tregillus both of this city in a quiet local ceremony.
Bastardy case delays as James Pugh held on bail
James Pugh remains in county jail under a 500 dollar bail while awaiting trial on a bastardy charge brought by Miss Mary Bonsick. He pleaded not guilty after arrest Friday night, with adjournment to Monday. Bonsick arrived at 10 with the child, walking seven miles. she is about 25 and worked at the mill boarding house. Pugh, a mill employee, seems confident witnesses will aid his defense when the case resumes Saturday morning.
