United Nations Program Delights Sorosis Club Members
Sorosis Club members enjoyed a United Nations program on Tuesday evening with discussions by Miss Dora Ryan quoting President Eisenhower and Mrs. George Johanson on UN goals. The event highlighted UN contributions from aid to Libya, malaria reduction, literacy, and international justice, with hostesses Dr. Seals and Dora Ryan serving refreshments to a long list of members.

Rochelle Study Club met Monday afternoon in the home making room to discuss fashions and fabrics. Mrs. Eli Rosenberg presented fashion trends with examples including a cotton tweed jumper dress and a two piece suit, while Mrs. Annie Mitchell spoke on fabrics and showed material samples. Guests enjoyed frozen salad and iced tea as models showcased ready made garments.

One hundred fifty guests attended a wedding shower for the bride elect, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hastings Coggin of Brady. She is a Brady High School 1951 graduate and Baylor University alumna, Phi Gamma Nu. The groom elect, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Clair Whitesell of Houston Pa, served four years in the Navy and works for the Pennsylvania Transformer Co. in Canonsburg. they plan to make their home together.
