Contractor Gels Eden Water Starts Concho Dam in Concho County
Center Paving of San Antonio began cutting the core trench for the detention dam on Doyle Wilson ranch 13 miles southwest of Eden. It is the sixth Brady Creek flood control dam let, now the only active project as others halt for water shortages. Centex Paving hauls water from Eden. Bullard Davidson of Grand Sealine works on Conn Johnson ranch near Melvin awaiting repairs to an old well. If the well proves usable it may resume two more dams on Noble Johnson ranch, 14 miles northwest of Brady, while Free man Ansley has been idle since August 23. The two dams by Fisher & Son northeast of Eden have been stopped since August 12 for lack of water.
